The Speculative Prototyping course explores how human performance, virtual production and wearable design intersect as an expressive system for communicating a future-facing radical statement. This statement challenges accepted ideas and norms, exposes hidden assumptions, questions roles and purposes, and opens new possibilities of knowing and being.

As part of the Duda Visiting Designer Program, the class collaborated with Speculative Designers Anthony Dunne and Fiona Raby, who guided the students towards preferable futures through lectures, workshops, discussions and reviews.

Students researched themes such as the environment, digital worlds, identity, radical hope, and infrastructure. Working collaboratively, they designed interactive performances that reimagine the relationship between physical and virtual spaces; humans and non-human surroundings; constructed and emergent worlds.and ,,
In the near future, a city is locked under government-
enforced quarantine, where survival is dictated by a
biased system that decides who to protect and who’s
left to suffer.

of living.
